2011 May 15 - UPDATE - Redbird FMX Full Motion Simulator Now Installed!!!
Well, it's now here. Our new Redbird FMX is in place.
We are now in the process of completing the Transport Canada requirements to get it certified and officially on-line. We'll have it integrated into our IFR training syllabus in short order. As well, with the 172S configuration it can also be used for some of the instrument training requirements in the Private and Commercial Licence syllabus.
It's a significant step in keeping our Instrument Flight Training program at the forefront of IFR training in Canada. Call us at 780-451-7676 for more info or drop-in for a tour to see it yourself.
2011 April 15 - BIG NEWS - Redbird FMX Full Motion Simulator on the Way!!!
In the next few weeks, we are going to have our new Redbird FMX full motion simulator on-line. Incorporating this state of the art simulator into our IFR training program further enhances our position as a premier school in Canada for IFR training. Hot on the heels of the Garmin 530/430 upgrade to our Seneca, students will be training in an optimum setting - cutting edge simulator technology matched with modern, yet real-world equipment in the airplane.
We've always had an IFR syllabus that takes the student into more depth than courses geared to simply passing the flight test. With the airplane and simulator upgrades, what was always great is now even better. Call us at 780-451-7676 for more information.
2011 April 1 - Spring is Here - Time to Take to the Sky
Finally some nice warm weather. Maybe spring is actually here. Anyway, it's time to get back into the air! Has it been a while since you were last up? Give us a call and book a check flight to shake off the rust prior to taking to the skies on a regular basis this summer.
If you're not a pilot yet, book a discovery flight or sign up for lessons and get your own licence. There really is nothing like the freedom of flight.
For information or to sign up for any of the above choices, give us a call at 780-451-7676. We'll be very happy to answer all your questions and discuss the various options with you.
2011 March 25 - Our Twin-engine Seneca Update
It's been a long, tough winter here in Alberta, but it's almost over. One thing it did allow was for us to make a significant upgrade to our Seneca's avionics. In keeping with our belief that multi-engine and IFR training should be closely related to the type of real-worls flying our graduates are going to experience, we've added the Garmin 430 and 530 GPS to our radio stack. This configuration has become a de-facto standard with many of the operators in Canada. Hence training with the same equipment that s student is likely to encounter in their early career is more beneficial.
We choose to use the Seneca as our multi-engine trainer because it provides a more realistic handling experience (due to it's weight and performance characteristics) than do many of the lighter twins. Configuring it with the conventional 6-pack of gauges accompanied by the 530/430 now provides a panel arrangement that is much more likely to be encountered in a graduate's first flying jobs.
One more reason to make Centennial your choice for career pilot training.
